I had the opportunity of experiencing the new Cadillac CT6 thanks to my friends at Cadillac Ile Perrot. Im not a professional car reviewer, but I can definitely say that this vehicle is the finest, smoothest and most comfortable that i have ever experienced. It stacks up against any luxury vehicle on the road today including Mercedes and BMW. The acceleration is smooth and there in virtually no road noise at any speed. According to Edmunds – “Plenty of rear passenger space for adults; engaging driving experience for a large luxury sedan; V6 engines are respectably powerful and fuel efficient; priced less than many other competing sedans.”
The CT6 personifies luxury with a soft leather interior and enough room for an NBA basketball player. It feels as if you are sitting on a comfortable chair with solid back support and plenty of leg room in the front and rear. The leather interior is soft and supple and adds a touch of elegance to a vehicle that already exudes tremendous class. According to Car and Driver – ” Avant-garde styling and high-tech features are great, but the CT6 sheds the Cadillac clichés in an attempt to best its European rivals. A 265-hp 2.0-liter turbo four and eight-speed automatic drive the rear wheels; the optional 335-hp 3.6-liter V-6 and 404-hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 get all-wheel drive. Onboard Wi-Fi with 4G LTE is standard, and a large touchscreen offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. High-end options include a 34-speaker stereo, giant sunroof and adaptive cruise control.”
The computer system is incredible with a mouse pad which enables you to navigate from GPS to audio to temperature control. The handling is precise and the steering is responsive at any speed. The two sunroofs have controls and there is a shade that you can control on the back window on a sunny day. Another great feature is a side light when driving at night and turning on to a street, it will light up. And the 34 speakers are a music buff’s dream. According to Driving – ” New for 2016, CT6 marks Cadillac’s long-awaited return to the global prestige luxury segment, touted as nothing less than an entirely new approach to premium luxury. Updates for the 2017 model year are minimal, although, later in 2017, Cadillac says it will add an all-new Plug-In Hybrid edition. A revised “wash” feature is also added to the rear camera system to improve visibility in messy outdoor conditions. There’s a trio of engines available for CT6, topped by a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 putting out 404 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Its efficiency is enhanced with cylinder deactivation technology as well as an eight-speed automatic transmission. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder, with a naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 available. Active-on-demand all-wheel drive is standard with the V6-powered models. A performance chassis system designed to deliver an engaging driving experience through the use of Active Rear Steer, Magnetic Ride Control and selectable drive modes is also standard.
