The loss of Gord Downie at the young age

of 53 was a terrible a loss for Canadians, music lovers but more importantly his family. Downie was married to Laura Leigh Usher, herself a breast cancer survivor. They have four children. Downie and Usher separated in 2015 before Downie’s cancer diagnosis.

Last night Gord quietly passed away with his beloved children and family close by. Gord knew this day was coming – his response was to spend this precious time as he always had – making music, making memories and expressing deep gratitude to his family and friends for a life well lived, often sealing it with a kiss… on the lips.

— The Downie Family, excerpt from a statement on the Tragically Hip website

I noticed a Gazette yesterday and was surprised that there were only 15 ads which indicates that the newspaper will eventually be out of business from an online perspective. Most people are reading their news online today. Only 20% of North American adults get their news from print newspapers. And more than 2/3 of adults get their news from both mobile and desktop / laptop.

Make sense right ? There is no use trying to be someone that you are not. Do not try and impress people with a fancy job, a big bank account or a cool sports car. If someone cares for you they do so because of who you are, not what you have.

If you believe, you will succeed. Sales is a game of attitude and has very little to do with skill. Once you realize that fact, your life will be enhanced. I go into every sales call with the expectation that a sale will be made. Why should I think otherwise.

Enjoy the day
