Random Whimsical Thoughts

The essence of kindness is that it is done with no expectations of getting something in return. The best descriptor of that would be selflessness. There are a small amount of selfless people in the world today as the vast majority of the population wants something in return for what they do for others. My late father was selfless because he gave with no expectations.

There is a debate in the world of business about planning and researching and focus groups versus just taking a good idea and running with it. This also applies in life. I was having a debate in a meeting recently on the subject of why consumers buy a product or service. The other person said that he bought a new vehicle based on research and analytics; for example studying Consumer Reports. The reality is true however, the vast majority of consumers buy a product or service based on feelings and emotions. I just bought a new car and it had absolutely nothing to do with analytics and everything to do with the way the car looked and felt when I test drive it.

In sum, you are better off in life to just do it.
