Let’s start today with some positive visualization. I am a firm believer in the concept and use it regularly in the world of radio sales. Every time that I visit a prospect with one of my sales team, I fully expect to make the sale. My thoughts are only positive and there is no room left in my brain for a negative outcome. Does that mean we close every time? No, but our closing ratios are well above average. In the law of vibration, Bob Proctor talks about positive vibration and its tremendous effects on life. So I sincerely hope that something good happens to you today.
The Secret is a best-selling 2006 self help book by Rhonda Byrne based on the film of the same name. It is based on the law of attraction which claims that thoughts can change the world directly. The book has sold 30 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 50 languages. I am not convinced. As the quote says, you need a goal, a plan and action. Behavior changes attitude. I cannot sit and wish to be a millionaire; I have to go out and chase it.
We tend to speak before we think. And in so doing, create problems that need not exist. If you are a sensitive person like me, this can become problematic. The key to personal communication is a combination of truth and kindness. And often it is not necessary other than to hurt the other person. I will never forget running into an acquaintance after many years and the person telling me that I had gained weight. Necessary? No. Some things are better left unsaid.
