Power or respect? What is more important to you? Power is fleeting yet respect lasts forever. Do you have to earn respect? Yes, however it should be implicit in certain situations like parent and child or leader and team member. Respect is defined as a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
The key to success in sales is listening. Most salespeople, however, take the opposite approach. How can you disvover the wants and needs of your prospect if you do not ask questions and actively listen. Active listening is a technique that is used in counseling, training, and solving disputes or conflicts. It requires that the listener fully concentrate, understand, respond and then remember what is being said.
The things you have should not be on your top ten list of what is important in life. As a matter of fact, your soul is what lives on in perpetuity and is the legacy that you leave behind. More and more people are giving their stuff away including Warren Buffett and Bill Gates who are giving away 90% of their fortune.
