At the end of the day, sales is all about your ability to maintain a positive attitude on a consistent basis. Sales is a series of sporadic victories punctuated with a multitude of challenges and obstacles. You are the difference maker, that is, the hero of your own story. Sales is a mental game which requires a triumvirate of positive attitude, energy and enthusiasm and a solid work effort.
But you must be proactive and take action on a consistent basis. You cannot simply visualize a positive outcome with acting upon it. Jim Carrey says that ” I would visualize things coming to me. It would just make me feel better. Visualization works if you work hard. That’s the thing. You can’t just visualize and go get a sandwich.”
So I had the opportunity of attending a networking event this week. It was presented by AccelerIQ at Lescritoire Coworking Space in Montreal. It was presented by Sara Ostad who is a social entrepreneur, education evangelist, tech enthusiast and workplace culture advocate. Robert Wise was the guest speaker and the subject was discover your unique value proposition. Robert is a sales and personal coaching expert who released a book entitled ” How to Sell the Wise Way ” The presentation was excellent and my take away was to always assess the personality style of your prospect and adjust yourself accordingly.
Energy or vibration is an essential element to successful selling. Bob Proctor, one of my mentors, has a brilliant video on YouTube entitled ” The Law of Vibration ” He states that the law of attraction is a secondary law to the law of vibration. It is the basic law that says everything in the universe is moving – nothing rests, and we literally live in an ocean of emotion. This is because everything is made of energy. When you think you activate brain cells and set up a vibration in your own body and this vibration you are in will dictate what you attract into your life. You become what you think about. Everything you want will come to you when you get in harmony with it.
